Workshop Overview

In this workshop participants will explore strategies to deliver meaningful, constructive, and actionable feedback that supports student growth and outcomes. This workshop will focus on designing meaningful feedback strategies by exploring the balance between formative and summative approaches, techniques for providing timely and specific feedback, and the effective use of rubrics and success criteria. It will also highlight differentiated feedback to cater to diverse student learning profiles. Additionally, the session will address fostering student self-assessment and peer feedback by creating a classroom culture that encourages constructive dialogue and collaboration.

Facilitator:

Katherine Khan

Katherine has over 25 years of experience working in a range of educational environments, in different educational capacities, with a wide range of organisations. From remote Indigenous schools to international schools, universities, and with different Armed Forces worldwide – her teaching experience is extensive. Katherine specialises in Curriculum Design and Development, alongside Teacher Training. She has worked with the IBO curriculum development and review team; designed and implemented curriculum and training programmes for the British and Australian Armed forces; and designed, implemented, and conducted the first IB Educator Certificate courses for DP, MYP and PYP in South Korea. Katherine enjoys teaching Humanities, Language Acquisition and Literature for the MYP, DP and CP. She has two children, both of whom undertook PYP and MYP, with the youngest currently undertaking the CP.
