Workshop Overview
In this three-day workshop on integrating Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) in our classrooms and schools, educators will have the opportunity to grow their ability to take SEL into their professional and personal lives.
Throughout the workshop, each session will begin with check-ins and provide moments for mindful pauses and resetting, fostering a conducive learning environment. The workshop will conclude each session with reflections and an optimistic closure, promoting a sense of growth and positivity.
The introductory session will delve into the definition of social-emotional learning, explore the CASEL framework, examine theories that inform SEL practices, and identify tangible indicators of SEL implementation. The second session will focus on practical strategies for integrating SEL practices within classrooms and lessons, empowering teachers to create a nurturing and supportive learning environment. Additionally, participants will explore the theories underlying implementation science, including the key components and factors necessary for systemic implementation of SEL in schools. By the end of the workshop, educators will be equipped with a deeper understanding of SEL, practical tools for implementation, and the ability to make meaningful connections between SEL and their personal and professional lives.
