Workshop Overview

The acquisition and application of language and literacy skills is the foundation of all learning and will have an impact on students’ self-esteem, their interaction with others, their success academically as well as outside of school. Leaders in charge of language and literacy learning need to have a deep understanding of its fundamental importance.

International schools typically choose from a wide variety of well-renowned curricula, resources and tools. With teachers coming from different educational backgrounds and experiences, it can be a challenge to coordinate language and literacy programmes that ensure consistency and impactful teaching and learning across the school. This workshop is designed for participants to gain the understandings and tools necessary to lead successful improvement of language and literacy teaching in the unique context of an international school.
