Design Thinking

Date: July 25, 2023 In this 3 day workshop participants learned about the process of Design Thinking before diving into a fun and interactive group project to experience each step in action. After seeing the process first hand, they then explored examples that applied to their specific subjects before creating a personalized sample to use in their own classrooms. The key aspects of the workshop involved exploring the Design Cycle, experiencing it as both a producer and consumer, and considering how to incorporate the Design Thinking process as an integral part of 21st Century teaching and learning.

Snapshot of participants’ feedback:

Thank you for a great workshop. Great presentation style with lots of opportunities to ask questions and talk about real life examples which all made it really enjoyable and informative. I feel more equipped as the workshop covered a lot and gave me food for thought.

This was my second workshop with Priyamvada Taneja. I have been looking forward to the workshops after attending the first one. The design cycle and concepts explored during the workshop are unique and useful in real life. I have already applied Design thinking in my classroom for building resources on Botany right after the session got over and planning to continue incorporating the idea more.

The design thinking workshop truly inspired me! The facilitators were excellent, and their passion and expertise created an engaging and inclusive environment. They did an amazing job fostering creativity and collaboration among all participants. The workshop’s dynamic and immersive style ignited our creativity and encouraged us to think beyond conventional boundaries. Combining brainstorming sessions, rapid prototyping, and collaborative activities, we felt energized and inspired to explore innovative solutions. The facilitators’ ability to create a safe space for open dialogue and experimentation allowed us to embrace failure as a stepping stone towards success, fostering a truly transformative experience. Brycen’s dynamic storytelling and Priyamvada’s empathetic listening made the workshop unforgettable. I feel fortunate to have been a part of their session, and I can’t wait to apply what I’ve learned to my work and personal projects. Thank you both for such a valuable and enriching experience – you’ve made a significant difference in our design thinking journey!
