Inquiry and Numeracy

Date: September 26, 2022 During this workshop the educators collaborated to understand the differences and applications of maths and mathematical knowledge vs. numeracy and math skills. They unpacked the math workshop model and its protocols and spent time in crafting their own versions to meet the needs of our classrooms. Throughout the workshop, the participants explored a range of mathematical classroom teaching and learning models (number talks, station rotation, gamification, self-paced learning) and curriculum designs that allow for creating classrooms that support child-centered hand-on mathematical practices and offer a variety of differentiated learner solutions.
