We unfolded the IB core and the concepts that drive the IB programme with a flipped classroom model – prompting questions and interactions. Prior reading helped participants frame their thinking and questions in readiness to the synchronous sessions.
Some of the key takeaways from the PYP course were the basic underpinnings of the primary years programme- transdisciplinary and conceptual learning, Inquiry as a pedagogy, student agency, reflections, International mindedness, collaborative learning and assessment. Participants also worked on creating unit plans that were based on a conceptual framework- both for single subjects along with a collaborative and integrated unit.
In the MYP participants explored strategies for supporting students to learn how to learn, and, applying their growing understanding of the MYP’s approach to teaching and learning, they planned for inquiry learning and conceptual understanding in their subjects. Participants collaborated in the preparation of an authentic assessment, relevant to their local context, and demonstrated their understanding of MYP pedagogy.
In the DP participants explored the outline and planning structure of the DP unit, importance of TOK, EE and CAS, integrating TOK across their subjects, understanding of the internal and external assessment in the DP and their role in delivering the DP curriculum.
Snapshot of participant reviews: This training set up by Priyamvada Taneja Consulting, was a very enriching experience. We learnt so much without feeling taxed and all the material and examples used were very relevant and relatable.

MYP training with Priyamvada Taneja Consulting was a great learning experience. The workshop was supported by substantial reading material and provided hands on experience during the synchronous sessions to the implement our learning. The facilitators conducting the workshop are amazing and they leave no stone unturned to make learning more interesting and permanent. I am sure each learner would definitely feel empowered, enthusiastic and full of energy and confidence to readily implement what he/she has learnt about MYP. I surely look forward to join you for other sessions too.

I have enjoyed every bit of DP training especially the synchronous modules. The facilitators come with a lot of expertise and were more than eager to share and answer the queries of the participants. Exchanging views with the fellow participants during the break out rooms was enriching.

The training program attended was an eye opener for me from many aspects. There are so many learnings for me from this workshop – in the way curriculum can be transacted, to make students reflective thinkers and the immense planning a teacher need to do before a class, to help students to be collaborative learners and take ownership of their own learning. I hope to execute some of my learnings and help my students to learn better.

The course was planned very well and the facilitator (PYP module) was par excellence. It gave an excellent introduction and overview to the PYP curriculum and its implementation. Thank you and I look forward to attending courses with your organisation in the future too.

Well, I am glad Priyamvada shared the training programme details with me and I decided to join. What a wise decision, I must say!!! Being an IB educator, I wanted to unlearn and relearn the IB. I chose to do both PYP and MYP. Upon completing the electives, I am left with a box full of learning from the outstanding facilitators! High on knowledge of the curriculum, well experienced yet humble to share their learning, and abundantly empathetic which is what a learner looks in the facilitator! They made the learning way more interesting than I imagined! Moreover, The overall structure of the training program has been chalked out well! Without any moment of feeling bored or tired, I enjoyed learning with a bunch of other teachers who are new to the IB. The exchange of conversations and thoughts ignited many new ideas which I am surely going to take back to my school. The blended program with adequate and accurate asynchronous work followed by engaging synchronous sessions is the BEST. The program content is way better than what I found in many other professional development courses I have undergone. Crisp yet detailed, the plethora of information shared throughout the course is immense! Well done! I look forward to learning more about the programs planned by the team. Lastly, I am grateful to Priyamvada for initiating this. It’s high time when we educators get authentic and pocket-friendly professional development opportunities.
