Literacy workshops

Date: June 15, 2023 In our Literacy workshop series we ran 2 workshops last month. In the first workshop ‘Unlocking the Power of Literacy: Pedagogies and strategies for literacy learning’ we explored practical advice and high impact teaching practices that improve outcomes in reading, writing and speaking and listening. The second workshop ‘Empowering Teachers to Foster Writing Excellence across the curriculum’ was designed to equip teachers with the knowledge and tools necessary to explicitly and systematically teach writing, including the integral role that grammar plays in effective writing.

Snapshot of participants’ feedback:

It was one of the most engaging workshop I have attended. The involvement of the participants helped to step into the shoes of children and realise how to break down a writing lesson and make it easier. I would love to attend future workshops as well! 10/10 !

What I enjoyed about the writing workshop was that it stretched me as a teacher and as an individual. Applying the strategies that were shared in the workshop, helped me overcome my own anxieties about writing, and now, thanks to the workshop, I feel empowered to do the same for my students as well.
