Making Learning Visible: documenting of/for/as learning

Date: September 25, 2022 In our Making thinking and Learning visible workshop the participants unpacked what display and pedagogical documentation are. Throughout the session they inquired into a variety of examples of documentation types and purposes, explored examples of documentation of, for and as learning and connected those to the best application in their daily practice. They also explored a range of documentation protocols and formats that engage learners, teachers, parents as well as broader communities of learning. Teachers deconstructed formats for creating, collecting and curating documentation as learning and connected stages of documenting of/for and as learning with daily planning and classroom experiences for learning, assessment and learning environment design.

Sharing snapshots of participants feedback:
Thank you for a though provoking learning experience. The pre-reading selection provided valuable context to my learning journey. The strategies and discussions were engaging, interactive and challenged me as a learner. Building in time to reflect on my practices has been particularly insightful especially in defining my way ahead with documentation.

I loved all the resources that were shared. The pre-reading material was informative and educative. The videos given as homework were so apt for the course. The workshop gave me a clear understanding of how I should document student learning as a Homeroom Teacher. It has helped me fill the gaps while completing a planner. I also got clarity on Student Agency and Collaboration while documenting. Thank you for a wonderful experience!

The workshop gave me an insight into documentation. We realised that doing little with crisp planning can make us achieve goals beyond boundaries. The reading of the book recommended further helped us to depend our understanding. Thank you so much for a wonderful workshop.
