Peter Welch

Peter has spent his career working in education globally. He has led four IB World Schools, in Romania, Finland, Turkey and Thailand. After studying at Cambridge University, he started his career as a volunteer in Lesotho and then Ghana. He honed his teaching skills in a tough inner London school, then worked in an independent boarding school, before moving to a premier international school in Singapore. He has worked in private, state, proprietary and not-for-profit schools. Peter believes in developing the capacity of others, inspiring new thinking, and encouraging professional growth through mentoring and coaching practices. He has extensively written and presented on how we live, learn, and communicate across cultures. In 2020, he co-authored a book, ‘Who On Earth Are You? How to Thrive in a Mixed-Up World’. The book takes an approachable approach to explore the importance and significance of our cultural differences. He currently lives in Nova Scotia, Canada where he divides his time between consultancy, running his own art, design and learning business and serving the board for two local charities.
