Exploring Numeracy in the Early Years (Pre-K to Grade 2)

Date: December 26, 2025 This workshop explored how numeracy developed in the early years through play, inquiry, and real-world experiences.

Across three sessions, participants deepened their understanding of how young children grow as mathematical thinkers. They explored strategies for designing engaging, playful, and meaningful math experiences in the classroom.

The workshop offered practical tools and ideas to help teachers support confident, curious, and joyful learners.

Kristie is a fantastic teacher! For myself, I would have preferred it all in two days with not each discussion leading to a breakout room. Though I understand the need for doing and understanding and felt a little overlaps. This is absolutely my personal view, that squeezing it in two days with crisp breakout room activities could have been done.
