Project Based Learning, Ashoka Group of Schools, Nashik

Date: July 16, 2025 We recently did a workshop on Project based learning with a group of enthusiastic and passionate educators from Ashoka Group of Schools. Across eight hours of live sessions and six hours of pre-reading, educators engaged with the key principles of PBL—authentic inquiry, collaboration, reflection, and real-world application—while exploring multiple models and strategies that can be adapted to diverse classrooms and curricula. Participants examined what makes a project truly meaningful, how to frame driving questions, scaffold inquiry, and support student agency throughout the learning journey.

Snapshot of participants’ feedback:

Attending the PBL training felt like stepping into a classroom of the future—where learning breathes curiosity, not compliance. I discovered how projects are tasks, but Project-Based Learning is transformation—driven by purpose, not just products. The training artfully wove content with concepts, anchoring them in real-world questions that demanded critical thinking. Planning wasn’t just about timelines—it meant mapping key learnings with core skills, integrating subjects like a living curriculum. Assessment wasn’t an end—it became a mirror, reflecting process, progress, and potential. PBL didn’t replace traditional learning—it elevated it. I now see classrooms as innovation labs, where learners don’t just absorb—they apply, reflect, and evolve. This wasn’t training; it was a shift in mindset.

TAttending this workshop was a very helpful experience. It improved my understanding of project-based learning and gave me the confidence to use it in my classroom. I learned how important it is to give students choices, ask the right questions, and guide them instead of just giving answers. The workshop had a good mix of learning, group work, and time to plan. Doing a PBL activity ourselves and getting feedback helped me create a strong challenge question and a full unit. I am leaving with useful ideas, more confidence, and a better way to make learning more active and interesting for my students.
