Across three sessions, teachers reflected on balancing structured instruction with play-based learning in early childhood classrooms. They practiced designing engaging routines and co-created lesson sequences that integrated phonics, comprehension, and inquiry. The workshop also supported educators in documenting both skill development and deeper conceptual understanding in the early years.
Snapshot of participants’ feedback:
Manjusha Radhakrishna Salegaonkar Golden Jubilee School I learnt how showing a picture mid-story can flip curiosity on, and how inductive + deductive starts guide children from wonder to clarity. Every strategy beautifully connected to building thinking, language, self-control, and motivation. Thank you!

The three-day session on Structured Literacy in the Early Years was truly insightful. It helped me rethink some of my teaching strategies and gain a clearer understanding of effective literacy practices. The group discussions with other teachers were especially valuable, giving us space to share ideas and learn from one another. Overall, a meaningful and impactful learning experience.

The structured literacy for early years workshop was a total game changer to various class room activities that I’ve been doing. It brought us together with different minds from different parts of the country, pooling in brilliant ideas. I loved the various activities that Ms Kristy taught us. It was an absolute pleasure to have her as a mentor for three days.

It was a wonderful experience. I have already applied some of the strategies (esp.story walk) in my class and it is working.
